why daily yoga practice is going to benefit you!
If you've ever wondered why practicing yoga every day might be beneficial, then you've come to the right place! As we venture into this new movement that's focus is to practice yoga e'ryday, it just felt *right* to go over some of the potential positives to doing so.
I mean, it's up to you whether you want to do it as a daily thing (our professional opinion is that you should because it rocks!), but the facts are here to tell you why you should and what you have to gain.
1. Inner peace. Yoga helps accomplish that deeper sense of purpose and leaves you with that feeling of peace. The great thing is that you can achieve peace within yourself and don't need to look for it outward.
2. Better flexibility & posture. Truth me told, this is one of the main reasons I (Char) wanted to get back into yoga. I used to dance at a competitive level in my younger years, and with that came flexibility and good posture that have since disappeared. By practicing yoga daily you're giving the muscles a chance to stretch and tone, which in turn will make them stronger. All bonuses. Just make sure you're learning the correct yoga pose posture before proceeding as we move week to week.
3. Increased energy. Feeling rundown, or ready to get a jumpstart on the day but feeling tired? Well then, practice yoga. Not only will getting into yoga flow make you feel refreshed, but it will recharge you!
4. Stress relief. Practicing yoga in times of stressful situations can bring about point #1. And the yoga poses themselves can actually help alleviate stress just in the way we are positioned in poses, and where we hold stress in our bodies (for example: hips are big emotional powerhouses so anytime you do hip opening stretches, tune into how they make you feel!).
5. Perspective. How hard you deem something is really just about adjusting perspective. Yoga puts you in a space that allows you to really understand your perspective and often work through it. Nothing is always as it seems, and yoga helps you realize this. A pose may seem hard to start, but it shouldn't (and most likely won't) be by the end of the first week as you practice and change your perspective. Give yoga the chance to help you get through your troubles and see the world with clearer eyes.
There are many more things you will gain from daily yoga practice and yours might be different than mine, which is good! It's about growth and truly understanding the benefit it brings. We wish you the best of your practice as you join us for yoga52!
