52 flow: february video

This is one of our favourite times of the month! We get to share a new video with you to help you link all the poses this month together. 

We recommend that you start building this sequence into your weekly routine, even if you only have 5 minutes to flow through it once a week. It'll help your body remember the poses and it will set you up for success as we move forward. The best way to kick off a "fuller practice" when you have 15 minutes to spare, would be to start with January's 52 Flow video and then flow right into February's video below:

pose of the week: warrior II

Can you believe that we are already that we're into the last week of February already? How was your self-love this week? We really hope you took some time to send yourself love this week. Maybe it was as simple as taking a down day OR shutting off those negative thoughts and telling yourself something amazing about you OR having a bath with a glass of wine...let us know what your self-love looks like!

And now onto the new pose of the week:

We are back in the lunge business this week and it is so worth it! We really think you are going to love the way warrior II feels on your body. It is one of those poses that has the added benefit of actually making you feel like a bad*ss warrior (if you let it ;).

pose of the week: warrior I

It's time for another pose and guess what!! They're getting good! This week we're digging into...

Warrior I is so fantastic and psst... it's just like crescent lunge, but your back foot is down on your mat! Make sure you download the PDF below to learn how to do the pose correctly PLUS take advantage of learning about the benefits of the pose along with some ways to make it more challenging.

And as always, once you have a grasp on how to perform it, it's always a good idea to perform the pose along with the audio!

february bonus of the month: half sun salutation + low lunge

We are so excited to bring you another video that'll help take your yoga warm-up to the next level! Do you recall how to do a Half Sun Salutation? Well, think of this new video like the best ice cream you've ever had + added a new scoop of deliciousness (aka low lunge) on top... mmmm hmmm it's really that good.

We recommend that you use the video this month as a warm up to all the poses that you perform throughout FebYOUary.

Why not start combining this video into your daily morning routine and layering your poses together each week? Clear as mud?!?

Here's what we mean: 

  • Start each day with the newest Half Sun Salutation + low lunge video.
     
  • Then flow into your crescent lunge (hold 2-3 breaths) > then to runner's lunge (hold 2-3 breaths) > to forward fold to release.
     
  • Repeat that sequence on the other side!

pose of the week: runner's lunge

Can you believe that we are already heading into week 2 of month 2? As you read in our newsletter, we have decided to make our focus this month (FebYOUary) to be all about sending yourself as much love as possible. What better way to do that than practicing a pose that looks as awesome as this?

Runner's lunge is a great addition to the variety of lunge poses that you'll find yourself in as your yoga practice evolves. It has similar benefits as crescent lunge, but also includes the major ADDED BONUS of working your core and taking your balance to the next level.

How did you do last week? Are your legs all lunged out? Make sure you're warming up and taking your time getting in and out of these postures. Our suggestion is to warm up using this month's bonus video Half Sun Salutation + low lunge and then dive into your pose of the week.
